The Berkeley City Club was a perfect setting for Tiffany and Patrick’s vintage wedding reception. The Berkeley City Club was designed by Julia Morgan, and is a California Historical Landmark for it’s unique pairing of Moorish and Gothic architecture. Originally built in 1929, it was formerly known as the Berkeley Women’s City Club, and restricted to the use of women only. Since then it has been transformed into a beautiful gathering place, including for the Chinese vintage wedding of Tiffany and Patrick.
The outdoor garden patios at the Berkeley City Club were so lovely when we arrived, we couldn’t help but take more portraits of the couple. It was like sneaking away to a secret garden to share some quiet and intimate moments before the fun of the reception began.
The couple’s simple and elegant cake by Enez at Cakeabakin was topped with a bright and fun cake topper, depicting the two lovebirds as just that, two birds!
The red and orange oriental rugs and furniture inside the Berkeley City Club were so perfectly paired with Tiffany’s wedding colors of orange, peach, red, and aqua. We love the pops of color against the off-white concrete walls of the Julia Morgan designed building.
Tiffany and Patrick opted for a wedding tree for their guest book, asking each guest to “leaf” their thumbprint with their names to fill the tree branches! A cute alternative that can be framed and displayed on their wall after their big day.
The couple participated in a traditional Chinese wedding tea ceremony once they arrived at the Berkeley City Club. It really allowed for their guests to fully celebrate the coming together of these two individuals, from two different cultures and backgrounds, into one cohesive family.
We couldn’t decide which we loved more: the bride’s white vintage style gown or red Chinese dress! Both were absolutely stunning.
A perfect end to a perfect wedding. We are so grateful that Tiffany and Patrick asked us to be their photographer to capture their precious memories. We love this photograph of them as the night moves in and their wedding day comes to an close.
