To Dream of Dresses
Hello all! Monday is usually a day where I’m in need of a pick-me-up, and what’s better for that than looking at some fabulous wedding dresses? I’ve been keeping a Pinterest board of wedding fashion (for me and my oh-so-stylish bridesmaids) and I’ll share some of my favorites, as well as some of the things I don’t want in a wedding dress (even though they are all so lovely!)
I’ve been an obsessive follower of wedding dress fashion for a while now. The fiance and I have been together for seven years, and I thought marriage would have happened long before this! Therefore, I’ve been saving, pinning, and clipping wedding dresses to my heart’s content. I have no idea what I’ll end up with, but here are my list of “fab and drab”.
Fab:
- High/Sheer Necklines
- Avant-Garde details
- A twirl-worthy skirt
- Mucho Poof
- Slight Bling
- Blush/Taupe/Eggshell
A dress worth twirling in! This bride had the ultimate fantasy of a destination wedding in Austria. Swoon!
Drab:
- Necklines that put too much emphasis on cleavage
- Mermaids! – To me they look crazy restrictive, and I don’t think I have the shape to pull it off!
- Overly Blinged
- Sheaths (Doesn’t fit my wedding style)
As much as I love a lot of other Mark Zunino dresses, this mermaid is definitely not my style. Too much beading, a low neckline, and body-hugging silhouette just isn’t my cup of tea.
On to the dresses! Here are a few of my picks:
This dream Watters dress is part of their new 2014 Spring line, and I’m adoring it. The intricate beading on the neckline, the sheer cap sleeves, natural waist, flowy skirt… total perfection!
Who doesn’t completely fall in love with Lazaro dresses? This blush gown with gold beading on the bodice would twirl with me far into the night. The sweetheart neckline isn’t a favorite of mine, but I might make an exception for this amazing number.
If you’re lucky enough to get a Carolina Herrera dress, I am eternally jealous. Her dresses are so fabulous, and look like nothing else other designers are doing. Tulle usually doesn’t wow me, but on this dress is makes her look like she lives on a cloud.
And another Lazaro – I just couldn’t help it! The sheer neckline, and fitted corset top, and the waterfall of creamy ruffles is to die for. I’d rather have something that lands on my natural waist, but this is a beyond fabulous dress.
So you have my fav’s! Feel free to peruse my Pinterest boards (everyone else does!) and I’ll be back next week to talk about flowers – something i know almost nothing about…
until next time!
xo- Morgan
