Good morning! We’re excited to introduce one of our associate photographers…Meredith!
We’ve dug deep and asked her 25 questions to help get inside her head!
Let’s see what she has to say…
1. What is your best childhood memory?
Coming home from a beach day in santa barbara… all the cousins piled in cars, sunkissed skin and the smell of eucalyptus on the breeze
 /
2. If you had a chance for a “do-over” in life, what would you do differently?
Go away to a 4-year university for college.
 /
3. How did your parents meet?
When they were students at UC Davis… my dad was supposed to be set up with my mom’s roommate.
 /
4. What do you feel most proud of?
My little family and the life we’re building together.
 /
5. What is your favorite music?
This is a REALLY hard question for me… I like a wide range of music. Some of my faves are Passion Pit, Junip, Childish Gambino, Sara Bareilles, John Mayer, Bon Iver, Dixie Chicks, S ugarland… haha! see I told you. A lot of variety.
 /
6. If you could travel anywhere, where would you go and why?
Portugal has been on my list for a long time… or Tulum, Mex.
 /
7. If you could only keep five possessions, what would they be?
My camera, my wedding ring + band, love notes/drawings from my kids, a childhood photo album and a box of treasures from my relationship with my husband.
/
8. What teacher in school made the most impact on you and why?
I was very lucky to have many incredible teachers… 3 that stand out are my 3rd grade teacher who instilled a love of reading, my 4th grade teacher who encouraged a sense of adventure and fun when it comes to learning and my high school photography teacher who taught me to see beyond taking snapshots.
 /
9. What do you want your tombstone to say?
I would like to be cremated, so no tombstone for me. but, I would like my friends and family to have an ice cream social to celebrate me. 😉
 /
10. What was one of your most defining moments in life?
I earned a full ride scholarship to the college i went to in la based on a project I designed.
 /
11. Why did you choose to be a photographer?
I have other photographers and storytellers in my family, so it was a natural choice for me… my grandfather shot with a medium format cameras and had a darkroom in their basement. My mom shot for yearbook in high school and I learned to shoot film with my dad’s first nikon camera.
 /
12. How do you spend your free time?
Going to see live music and other live shows, going on adventures with my family, quality time with friends and eating!
 /
13. If you won the lottery, what would you do?
So many things! I would keep doing the work I love, travel, create shared experiences for others and start a project to empower kids, especially young ladies
 /
14. Who do you most admire in life?
Women that embrace their stories, especially the messy bits… the ones who are authentic and brave and share their beautiful truths even when it’s hard. women that aren’t defined by what has happened to them and keep getting back up.
 /
15. What are your top three favorite books and why?
– the alchemist… I’ve read this book a few times as i’ve navigated hard seasons and there’s always a new message that resonates for me
– the day the crayons quit… I’m a huge fan of children’s books, especially if they are illustrated beautifully and have a quirky story
– the language of flowers… I could not put this book down. the story is beautifully hard and honoring.
 /
16. What are you most afraid of?
I have emetaphobia… it’s an overwhelming, intense anxiety/fear pertaining to vomiting. It’s silly, but real.
 /
17. What feels like love to you?
Love feels like home and a wild adventure wrapped in one.
 /
18. What is your strongest personal quality?
I listen well and know the right questions to ask to get to the heart of a story.
 /
19. What was your most embarrassing moment?
I was leaving my son’s soccer practice and went to back my brand new car out of the parking space… I caught the bumper on a wood post I didn’t know was there and it pulled the bumper off a little… and other families were there watching. sheesh.
 /
20. What job would you be terrible at
Waitressing… I’m insanely clumsy and I have a very hard time remembering numbers.
 /
21. What age do you feel right now and why?
I feel 28, but I don’t know why.
 /
22. If you could witness any event of the past, present, or future, what would it be?
This is a tough one… I would say the births of my children.
 /
23. What is a skill you’d like to learn and why?
Videography… I have a few creatives I follow and love their video style. I feel like it would marry my love of graphic design, photography and storytelling.
 /
24. What does a perfect day look like to you?
A vanilla latte in the morning, looking for beach glass and catching up with my favorite people, playing in the waves, an amazing outdoor dinner with beautiful conversation… a day that let’s me soak up connection with the people I love fiercely. Preferably in Kauai 😉
 /
25. How would your friends describe you?
Grounded, authentic, silly, creative, kind, family-oriented, hard working, observant
