Casa Real at Ruby Hill Winery
If you’re wondering how to combine the rustic charm of a winery with the “wow-factor” of a luxurious venue, then take our advice and trek out to Casa Real at Ruby Hill Winery in Pleasanton, CA. We always love photographing at Casa Real, and one of our favorite weddings from last year; the wedding of Myra and Anthony. Not only could they successfully fit a large guest count into this venue’s beautiful ballroom, but there were endless beautiful spots for us to photograph them on their big day.

Luxury Vineyard Wedding Venue
From “Here Comes the Guide”:
Acres upon acres of vineyards frame the 20,000-square-foot villa. The beautiful Mediterranean-style fountain surrounded by roses is a paparazzi-pleasing backdrop for red carpet arrivals and departures. Enormous hand-carved mahogany doors with wrought-iron hinges open into the jaw-dropping Entrance Hall with its 32-foot ceiling, Italian tile floor and white limestone trim. Three huge chandeliers; artisan-crafted limestone niches, rosettes and medallions; and clerestory-style windows set high in the walls lend the space a classical, yet romantic, feel. It’s a gallery fit for rows of marble statues or shining suits of antique armor, but you might be perfectly happy with a roomful of celebrants and a beautiful floral arrangement atop the round mahogany table that sits at its center.
… the Amber Room with its honey and cocoa accents embraces you in an atmosphere of luxury and intimacy. Large enough for a sizeable indoor ceremony or sit-down gathering, its focal point is a 12-foot hand-carved limestone fireplace before which vows, performances and spirited toasts are surely in order.
The Entrance Hall’s north doors lead to the 9,000-square-foot Grand Salon, ideal for magnificent fêtes and feasts, with its soaring ceiling, mahogany bar and expansive windows. Twenty massive half-moon chandeliers, star-like pin lights, and sconces around the room’s perimeter vary the mood; the champagne-colored Italian tile floor invites dancing; and handsome mahogany king’s tables suggest banqueting in grand style.
No detail goes unattended in this regal oasis. In addition to the spacious, elegantly appointed restrooms, a posh chamber the size of a small condo (with couch, credenza, standing mirror, private bathroom and a granite-topped vanity that seats up to four) serves as a corporate closing room, a lounge for the bride and attendants or a peaceful semiprivate retreat.
For outdoor ceremonies, cocktails and other activities, the Sun Garden’s terrace, walkways, limestone fountains and plants provide an idyllic setting. Views of the vineyards and the rolling East Bay hills abound, and a canopy of blue sky caps its protective walls. Within them Valencia orange trees, lavender, white tree roses and other beautiful blooms share space with 12 lovely magnolia trees that border the garden’s central lawn. And don’t forget the historic Ruby Hill Winery right next door; it’s a great spot for a rehearsal dinner or optional wine-tasting activities.
Why We Love Photographing Here
What’s not to love? Brides are entranced by the beauty and romance of a luxurious Napa-style venue nestled in the seclusion of the East Bay, and coordinators have endless options for enhancing this already beautiful setting. Whether you choose to go “all out” with decor and theming, or keep it minimal, this venue is already picturesque and full of details.
The sheer size of the space is an added bonus. When a venue can hold up to 400 people, we know there will be plenty of room to maneuver and get the best shots!
Being on an actual vineyard, the bride and groom can get those classically gorgeous shots in the vines as the sun goes down; these are the moments we can capture that complete the bride’s vision when she decides to have a vineyard wedding.
Courtyards, large halls, and rolling hills make for a lovely backdrop to any event.
If you’re considering a vineyard wedding, at least make a trip to Casa Real! You’ll enjoy the beauty of this amazing venue, and you might fall in love!
