It’s always a little nerve wrecking when a good personal friend of yours asks you to shoot their engagement session. But also exciting at the same time. I’ve known Alison for a while now and she’s a girl boss after my own heart. Owner of Pretty Please Bakeshop, I would have to lie if I said I didn’t have a girl crush on her. She and I hit it off when we first met, I felt like I was talking to an old friend.
We headed to Oakland for this engagement shoot, and I have to admit this engagement session with these two couldn’t have turned out better. A little bit of rain couldn’t even put a damper on our day. Take a look through and see how flippin’ cute these two are!
I still remember the first time she told me about Dav, she was cautiously giggly (and if you know Alison, you know what I mean) but her eyes were shining. As their relationship developed, I watched Alison become happier and at the same time, get softer.
When I first met Dav, I spotted his Wu-Tang Clan tattoo, his awesome X-men patch. Bad Badtz Maru and Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends buttons. I mean come on, can he get anymore perfect?
What a great way to start my year? An engagement session with friends.
Alison and Dav, I think you both are perfect together. Dav, I love the way you make Alison smile, and how you create a space where Alison can be authentically and wholeheartedly her without holding back. Thank you for loving my friend the way you do.
I can’t wait for your wedding, I know I won’t be the only one trying to hold back tears. Thank you for letting me photograph your engagement photos!
-XOXO
