On a cool Sacramento summer evening, Greg and Rebecca were married in an untraditional, lovely and meaningful ceremony high in a private residence over looking the American River. Both social workers, Greg and Rebecca’s wedding was elegant and laid back, definitely one to remember with all the right factors in mind. There was a nice and gentle breeze for the whole entire backyard wedding, perfect for lounging in the hammock.
Where can I start with all the awesomeness of this wedding? They chose to meet before the ceremony for their portraits, choosing to spend some time with each other and celebrating their love before the day’s festivities. They then had their his and hers blessing before the ceremony where all the women went with Rebecca and all the men went with Greg so that they could help celebrate love and life, and shower the two with their own stories and blessings. Keeping true to this nontraditional wedding, Greg and Rebecca both walked into the ceremony site with their parents to join each other before walking down the aisle together. Their altar was marked by flowers that each guest had lovingly placed down in a circle. All the flowers were from the delightfully organic Full Belly Farms. During their ceremony, Rebecca’s mother and sister read out a beautiful piece on feminism and marriage.
We were just overjoyed to be there and felt so lucky to have been able to document this special day. This wedding was very meaningful to us and will stand out in our hearts. Greg and Rebecca, thank you so much for choosing us to be your photographers for the perfect wedding!
