It was last Sunday when the wildfires broke out in Northern California. I remember getting ready for bed when I first heard of it. When we found out that the fire was on Atlas Peak in Napa, we were alarmed because that was where Josh’s father, stepmother and two pugs lived. Unfortunately, not long after that, we found out that their house had been one of the first few houses to be consumed by the fire. Fortunately, his father, stepmother, the two pugs and his 7-year-old nephew made it out! Although they barely made it, we are so thankful that they are safe and that’s what matters.
All of the last week, Josh and I have been in Napa, supporting his parents through the fire, as the valley went through some of its toughest times. It was a surreal experience and we are fortunate to have been able to be beside Josh’s family to support them and the valley in a difficult time of crisis.
Now, over a week after the start of the fire, the smoke is lifting and we can finally stop holding our breath. We hold dear the people and houses that have been lost to the fire and we send our love and support to those who have lost their houses.
As we spend these couple days back in Napa I know that we are brave and determined, we are strong and resilient. We are focused on rebuilding our lives and memories. We are celebrating the firemen, first responders, policemen, volunteers and countless others that have worked tirelessly. We are grateful for those friends and people in our industry that have reached out to us in Support. We are so overwhelmed with the love we received. We are committed to facing this challenge head-on. The valley is still beautiful as ever and our team is ready for whatever comes our way next.
We are thankful for our clients that have graciously allowed Josh and I the time to focus on our family in this crisis as our team handled our events. We are grateful for your grace and understanding. We are blessed to have some of the best clients and friendors in the industry. We feel so lucky to be part of a larger family made up of the most amazing clients and friendors.
Rest assured that the team at Milou and Olin Photography and Giggle and Riot Funbooths are committed to making your event a successful and memorable one. Now we put our heads down and Josh and I are jumping back full steam ahead into our work as we face the busy holiday season.
We look forward to working with you on your event and seeing you soon.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We are so grateful.
