We had the utmost pleasure of photographing an unbelievable family portrait session. My friend Kristin was saddened when her mom, Julie was diagnosed with cancer. Having gone through similar experiences, we approached her about a family portrait session. We met Kristin, mom Julie, husband Ben and brother Scott at Cavallo Point, a beautiful new hotel in Sausalito. What resulted was an amazing session that was therapeutic for them and for us! This is sure to be our favorite portrait session of the year and the most powerful.
The family together. Julie told us many stories of her kids and really let us into their lives. In almost every photo, you can feel their emotions and love shining through their eyes.

My absolute favorite image. I really love this photo because it’s such a secret embrace between a mother and child. And every child know that feeling and position of burying our face into our mother’s embrace. It’s almost like being home in our mother’s arms.

Another one of my favorites, you can just see the emotion in Julie’s face.

I love this photo set of the family. And btw, if you can’t tell, we loved Scott’s outfit.

The family’s choice of shoes really shows off their different and colorful personalities.

I really love this one too of Ben and Julie together.

Kristin, Julie, Ben and Scott, thank you so much for sharing your lives with us even if it was just a quick glimpse. You are an amazing family and your love endures all. Hang on to each other tightly.
Also, Scott is an amazing artist that blew me away with his knowledge of the area and caliber of work. Scott told us of his younger days when he used to climb under the GG Bridge and jump into the net under it with friends!
Btw, blog readers, we would really love to hear your comments on this session because it was such an emotional session for all of us. We’d love to hear what you thought of the photos!
