What would make an elopement even more fun? Bringing along a few friends and family to enjoy it with! Most people would just call that a short-notice small wedding, and that’s exactly what Faye and Josh set out to do!
Their wedding at Flying Caballos Ranch in San Luis Obispo is a beautiful example of how to have a simple, unfussy rustic wedding and let your venue do all the work!
The “lighthouse tower” at Caballos Ranch has a full master suite at the top, with beautiful views of the surrounding hills. The boys used it as their “getting ready room”. The ceremony space took full advantage of the beautiful vistas that surround the ranch. The rolling hills and sprawling greenery don’t need much ornamentation. Their handmade chuppah reflects the simplicity of their ceremony spot. Faye and Josh walk down the aisle together, hand-in-hand. Because the signing of the Ketubah is the Jewish version of the marriage contract, they are technically already married. Faye’s two children are an adorable addition to the wedding ceremony.
Even though it battled against the wind, we love the beautiful branches they made their chuppah from.
Mazel Tov! Faye and Josh headed out into the fields of Caballos Ranch for their wedding portraits.
Faye’s kids get their own engraved necklaces to commemorate the day they all became a family. Such a sweet idea! The bridesmaids all dressed in pretty shades of pastel, which look so fabulous against the muted landscape. The bouquets are in beautiful pale pinks and whites as well!
We couldn’t resist snapping a few photos of this cute new family! Off into the sunset they go! The reception was full of simple touches in neutral tans and beiges. Such a great way to reuse, and give favors! Who doesn’t love a mason jar glass? Keep your guests hydrated! Fancy fruit is a fabulous (and delicious) way to make a jug of water more festive. Mini desserts are just the right size for finger food! And the handmade signs add to the rustic decor. S’mores!! Everyone should consider a s’mores bar for a casual outdoor reception – especially if your venue already has fire pits! Faye and Josh opted for Specialty chocolate bars and vanilla and lemon marshmallows.
Sticky treats can’t deter these two! They set up an intimate outdoor space for some delicious food and drinks with close friends and family. Thankfully the weather is beautiful almost year-round on the Central coast! We dig the rustic “Mr.” and “Mrs.” signs! It’s always a great touch to add something unique to the bride and groom’s chairs. Pretty string lights illuminate this intimate scene at the ranch. Toasts and dancing were softly lit all night. First dances are always the best moments. Faye and Josh’s was especially adorable!
