There’s something refreshing about a wedding that has been stripped down to the essentials: a bride, a groom, a few close family members, and the rings. These urbanites decided it was time to tie the knot, so they staged an intimate rendezvous to San Francisco’s gorgeous City Hall and brought us along to document everything.
Usually when couples let us know that the “getting ready” photos are going to take place in their apartment, the fear of lack of good light and ample space creeps in – but we were pleasantly surprised with Tom and Tracy’s minimally curated space; full of creamy neutrals, big windows, and wonderful art.
An air plant (one of our guilty pleasures) quietly adds some whimsy on a bookshelf. Mid century modern eclectic decor perfectly reflects this chic urban couple.
Tracy’s profile appears in one of their many wonderful pieces of art.
Warm beige sandals accompany a short, off-white, lace dress as the perfect ensemble for a June wedding in the city.
Mementos from shared adventures sit on a low shelf, and a very adorable piggy bank maps out the city for us.
Tom sees his future bride for the first time!
Tom and Tracy share a sweet look in front of one of their favorite pieces of art.
Tom looks on as Tracy poses for photos. Who couldn’t love this wedding-day look? Tom’s dark navy suit is such a wonderful departure from the norm, and Tracy’s just-below-the-knee lacy look is anything but casual, especially when paired with nude heels and some sparkly drop earrings.
For anyone doubting that a City Hall wedding can be stunning, here’s the proof! We’re big fans of this building’s amazing architecture and beautiful light.
There were so many lovely spots to take Tom and Tracy, it was hard to choose! We let their urban style lead the way. Aren’t they just so sweet? We had such a fun day with this adorable couple.
One of the things on Tom and Tracy’s wish list were photos “in or around trees”. You may not think of nature when you visit SF, but we know all the pretty places to find it!
They took their intimate group and rendezvoused in the Billiard Room in Wayfare Tavern, a restaurant known for its New American cuisine and old-school furnishings.
It filled our hearts with joy to be a part of Tom and Tracy’s day, and we still can’t get over their awesome sense of style!
We wish them all the best!

I love this so much. I will get so much pleasure looking at it over and over again. You did a wonderful job, but what great subject matter you had! It makes me happy every time I look at it!
